Our Mission:Our mission is to enhance the health and quality of life of individuals and families within our local communities by providing a full range of quality organic foods which are affordable and accessible to the average family. We also strive to obtain as much organic food locally and support local farms as much as possible.
Who we are: Living Organics Inc. is and will always remain non-profit. We are individuals and families who believe that good health is important. We love and enjoy life, which good health allows for us to do. We believe that fresh organic food is the only healthy option for us and the earth. The prices are only marked up enough to cover costs and any leftover produce is donated to local charities, making sure that none of the food goes to waste. Delivery allows for less gas being used and emitted into the environment, as well as making organic foods more accessible to everyone. We depend on our volunteers, which helps create a sense of community, as well as keeps our prices affordable. We believe that we are blessed as we bless others.
Our Goals Our immediate objective is to make quality organic foods accessible and affordable for the average person and family.
1st Phase (Current): Provide certified organic foods at affordable prices, allow the convenience of online ordering and home delivery or members may also choose to pick up if desired. Provide a full range of organic foods, both fresh, frozen and non-perishable. Offer delivery within the Medicine Hat area, Bow Island and Brooks. Allow others to volunteer and receive discounts.
2nd Phase (Goal: Fall 2010): Open a store location, most likely in the shopping area near Wal-mart or a similar location. Provide an extended range of all organic foods needed in one location, as well as nutrition and food preparation classes and "take out" foods produced in store. We will be open to the public, however, to obtain the discounted prices (discounted 30-40%) one must be a member. To become a member there will be a $30 annual fee, which will give additional benefits. Members may choose to shop in store or online. We will still be dependent on volunteers who will in turn receive additional discounts and potentially free food, but we will also have employees as deemed necessary. Shopping at Living Organics will not only help others receive affordable organic foods, but will also be a good experience which will create a sense of community. We will continue to offer home delivery within the Medicine Hat area, Bow Island and Brooks. We will seek out ways to provide as much as can be obtained locally as possible. 3rd Phase (Goal: 2011/2012): Open a store location in Lethbridge similar to our Medicine Hat location and run the same way. Delivery will be offered within Lethbridge and neighboring areas such as Taber.
How we got started: Living Organics was started and is managed by Daniel and Joyeuse Steuernol. We have 3 small children and moved from the Greater Toronto Area (Ontario) to Medicine Hat to settle down and raise our family in September 2007. After much research and preparation, we have launched the Living Organics Buying Club in March 2008 and have been incorporated since April 2009. Our desire and mission is to contribute to the health of as many families as possible by making available the freshest and most nourishing organic foods possible. We have a strong and sincere desire to make a significant contribution within our community.
